Our emergency shelter, Bethel Cares, provides a safe haven, nourishing meals, and a compassionate beginning for individuals and families experiencing sudden homelessness or displacement. We believe this essential mission relies heavily on our community’s support.

We open our doors to those facing their most challenging moments. Volunteers truly embody the spirit of our operation. By dedicating your time, you contribute more than shelter and sustenance; you provide dignity, safety, and renewed hope.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

• Meal Providers: We welcome both individuals and groups to prepare and deliver hot dinners, breakfasts, or sack lunches for our guests.
• Evening & Morning Hosts: These volunteers welcome guests, assist with sign-ins, help with bed setups, and ensure a warm, safe atmosphere during shift transitions.
• Overnight Supervisors: Overnight volunteers remain on-site throughout the night to uphold facility safety, manage basic security, and assist staff with morning wake-up routines.
• Donation & Supply Organizers: This role involves sorting and managing incoming donations of clothing, hygiene products, bedding, and non-perishable food items.

What to Expect / Requirements:

Orientation & Application: All prospective volunteers are required to complete a brief application and background check before participating in their first shift.

Arrival Guidelines: Please arrive on time for your scheduled shift. Please utilize designated parking areas, ring the front doorbell upon arrival, and check in at the front desk for security purposes.

Cancellation Policy: We greatly appreciate your commitment, as it is crucial to our operations. If you need to cancel, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so we can secure a replacement.
