PROGRAMS & SERVICES
The faces of Bethel Community Facility (BCF) are as vital and varied as the community we serve. We are continually evolving programs and services in response to the ever-changing needs of the community.
BCF assists individuals and families in the tradition of helping people help themselves. Be it immediate help in these economically challenging times, families in need of safe haven for their children or help with education and career opportunities, BCF here for you!
We are all about strengthening the lives of people in our community. What would that look like for you? Will you take an enrichment class? Enroll your child in summer camp? Attend community events? Rent a room for a party or meeting? No matter how you engage with the Bethel Community Facility, we hope it adds to the way you and our whole community come together.
Emergency Assistance
A part of a consortium with the South Suburban Council on Homelessness, we provide rent, utility and security deposit assistance for struggling families. Please contact the homeless prevention hotline: 877-426-6515 to receive a referral. A referral does not guarantee assistance. There are several requirements including having some form of regular income and a documented crisis that led to your current need. Referrals for assistance are based on fund availability.
Emergency Shelter
Bethel Community Facility offers a permanent, year-round emergency shelter for men, women and children. The shelter hours of operation are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00am. Showers are available Thursdays mornings. A hot meal is served and clean clothing is available. For more information, please call 708-758-5585.
Rental Space
Bethel Community Facility provides affordable space for conducting meetings, conferences, forums, classes, social/cultural and fundraising events. For more information or to book your next event, please call 708-758-5585.
Performing Arts & Film Camp
Youth ages 8-18 are taught by trained staff to develop their skills in acting, dancing & singing in the making of an original motion picture. At the end of the 7 week program, youth showcase their talents at a red carpet screening event held at a local movie theatre for a memorable summer experience!
The goal of our Summer Performing Arts Camp (SPAC) is to instill a love and appreciation of the performing arts in the youth in our community as well as inspire them to use their own creative abilities. By presenting programs of the highest quality, SPAC strives to enrich and enhance performing arts education and to build future audiences.
Afterschool Tutoring
In conjunction with Bloom Township High School District #206, Bethel Community Facility provides after-school enrichment programs for high school students in core academics, homework help, tutoring, technology training, recreation and the arts.
The purpose of the 21st CCLC is to expand learning opportunities for children and their families outside of regular school hours. These programs offer strong after-school activities, which involve both schools and the community, joining together to help students develop into healthy adults.
Youth Employment
Bethel Community Facility provides a range of job training opportunities for young people ages 16 to 21. These programs integrate leadership development, comprehensive support services, educational programming, and college enrollment with on-the-job vocational training. Our goal is to transform the lives of young adults so they can gain living wage employment, go to college, and become positive forces in their communities.
